Christian Gonzalez Becomes NFL’s Highest-Paid Cornerback With $135 Million Patriots Extension

The New England Patriots and Pro Bowl cornerback Christian Gonzalez have agreed to a four-year, $135 million contract extension with $102 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. The deal carries an average annual value of $33.75 million, making Gonzalez the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. The agreement was reached less than 48 hours before New England’s 2026 season opener against the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle.
