Howard Women’s hoops to take on George Washington on Tuesday

WASHINGTON (November 10, 2025) – Howard University women’s basketball team (2-0) takes on the Revolutionaries of George Washington University (1-1) in an inner-city nonconference showdown at The Smith Center. Tipoff is scheduled for Tuesday (Nov.11) at 6 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN+.

Saturday (Nov. 8), redshirt junior Zoe Stewart(Terre Haute, Ind.) scored a team-high 15 points to lead four players in double figures as the Howard University women’s basketball team cruised to an easy 89-53 win over Florida A&M University in a nonconference clash inside The Burr.

Friday (Nov. 7), George Washington (GWU) suffered its first loss of the season, an 86-50 defeat at Temple. Kamari Sims and Colleen Phiri led the way, both netting 11 points for the Buff & Blue.

THE COACHES

Howard is coached by Ty Grace (New Haven, ’99), who is in her 11th season at the helm. GWU is led by Ganiyat Adeduntan (Florida State, ’06), who is in her first season.

GAME NOTES

Howard is shooting 41-percent from three-point range while holding their opponents to 34-percent shooting from the floor, including 34-percent from beyond the arc. HU is shooting 83- percent from the free throw line as a team and have recorded 14 total blocks.

SERIES RECORD

GWU holds a slim 13-12 lead over Howard, dating back to 1976. The Bison took the first five meetings between 1976-78, before George Washington captured its first win in December 1978. GWU has been dominant in recent memory, winning 10 of the last 12 matchups, dating back to the 1985-86 campaign, including seven in a row from 1985 to 2012.
