The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference is continuing its commitment to growing opportunities for female student-athletes.
Beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, Women’s Flag Football and Women’s Golf will officially be added to the MEAC championship lineup, marking another significant step forward for the conference and its member institutions.
The addition of both sports reflects the rapid growth of women’s athletics nationwide, particularly women’s flag football, which has emerged as one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. Meanwhile, women’s golf provides another competitive platform for student-athletes to showcase their talents at the conference level.
With these additions, the MEAC further strengthens its investment in providing opportunities for women to compete, lead, and excel both on and off the field.
“This is about creating more pathways for student-athletes and continuing to elevate women’s sports across the conference,” the move signals as the MEAC positions itself for continued growth and innovation.
As participation in emerging sports continues to rise, the conference remains focused on expanding opportunities while enhancing the student-athlete experience throughout MEAC Nation.
The future of women’s athletics in the MEAC is growing—and 2026-27 will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
