Andy Reid: Mia Bieniemy Out of ICU, “Doing Great” After Shooting

There was encouraging news Wednesday regarding Mia Bieniemy, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters that Mia Bieniemy has been released from the intensive care unit and is continuing to recover after being shot at her Virginia home earlier this week.

“She’s doing better—great from where she was. Out of the ICU and making progress,” Reid said.

Reid also confirmed that Eric Bieniemy remains by his wife’s side as she continues her recovery.

The update comes just days after authorities in Loudoun County, Virginia, responded to a shooting at the Bieniemy residence. According to police, Mia Bieniemy sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their 27-year-old son, Elijah Bieniemy, has been charged in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.

The positive update from Reid marks a significant step forward after what has been an incredibly difficult week for the Bieniemy family.

Our thoughts remain with Mia Bieniemy, Eric Bieniemy, and their loved ones as her recovery continues.
