Delaware State has added another talented quarterback to its roster, landing former Coastal Carolina signal-caller Samari Collier as head coach DeSean Jackson continues to strengthen the Hornets ahead of the 2026 season. Collier announced his commitment Friday through his Instagram account.
Collier made an impact during the 2025 season at Coastal Carolina, throwing for 489 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 429 rushing yards and seven more scores on the ground. His dual-threat ability accounted for 918 total yards of offense and 14 total touchdowns despite appearing in just part of the season. (HBCU Gameday)
Before arriving at Coastal Carolina, the Dallas native starred at Hutchinson Community College, where he helped lead the Blue Dragons to the 2024 NJCAA national championship. During his junior college career, Collier earned two KJCCC Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors and established himself as one of the nation’s top JUCO quarterbacks. (HBCU Sports)
Collier now joins a Delaware State program coming off a breakthrough season under DeSean Jackson and is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job as the Hornets pursue a MEAC championship in 2026.
