The WNBA has recognized two of its hottest stars, naming Shakira Austin of the Washington Mystics and Kayla McBride of the Minnesota Lynx as the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week for Week 11 of the 2026 season.
Austin continued her dominant stretch in the paint, averaging 22.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. The Mystics center has been a driving force behind Washington’s recent surge, recording double-doubles throughout the week while impacting the game on both ends of the floor.
Out west, McBride put together another sensational scoring week for the league-leading Lynx. The veteran guard averaged 24.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game, highlighted by her historic 43-point outing against the Dallas Wings, where she knocked down a WNBA-record 10 three-pointers in a single game.
The honor marks another milestone in what has been an outstanding season for both players. Austin has emerged as one of the WNBA’s premier two-way frontcourt players, while McBride continues to prove why she remains one of the league’s most dangerous perimeter scorers.
With the playoff race heating up, both stars will look to build on their momentum as their teams continue pushing toward the postseason.
