Jordan Poole is back on the open market.
The New Orleans Pelicans have decided to waive the veteran guard, according to sources, giving Poole an opportunity to find a new home as the NBA offseason continues.
Poole is already drawing interest around the league, with the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings among the teams monitoring his availability.
A return to Golden State would be particularly intriguing. Poole spent the first four seasons of his career with the Warriors and played a significant role on their 2022 championship team. He seemed to be poised to become a key piece to the Warriors’ sustained competivness as Stephen Curry enters the twilight of his career. However that came crashing down ( as did Poole himself ) via a thunderous punch from Draymond Green, leading to him being traded to the Washington Wizards in 2023.He later landed in New Orleans as part of the Pelicans’ 2025 offseason reshuffling.
Now, Poole could have another chance to reset his career—and ,find them form that has eluded him for the few seasons, potentially reunite with the franchise where he established himself as one of the league’s most explosive young scorers.
With multiple teams reportedly keeping tabs on him, Poole’s next destination could become one of the more interesting free-agent storylines of the offseason
