Jackson State has received a major boost just two days before its 2026 season opener.
Reid Pulliam, B.J. Washington, Kazarius Bowie and Tymon Wells have been granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA, making the four Tigers eligible to compete for the next 10 days.
The ruling comes as the players continue their legal fight for an additional season of college football eligibility.
The timing is significant.
Jackson State opens the 2026 season on Saturday, Aug. 29, against Tennessee State, meaning all four players are now eligible to take the field in the highly anticipated matchup.
The Tigers are then scheduled to face Edward Waters on Sept. 5, which also falls within the 10-day eligibility window.
Pulliam, Washington, Bowie and Wells are four defensive players who sought another season of eligibility from the NCAA. Their case has been part of the broader legal battle surrounding players from the 2022 recruiting class and the NCAA’s eligibility rules.
For Jackson State, the ruling provides an immediate reinforcement to its defense heading into the season.
For now, four Tigers are back.
The long-term eligibility question remains unresolved, but Pulliam, Washington, Bowie and Wells can compete for the next 10 days.
