Angel Reese is officially in the WNBA record books—again.
The Atlanta Dream star recorded her 29th double-double of the 2026 season on Sunday, setting a new WNBA record for the most double-doubles in a single season.
Reese reached the historic mark during Atlanta’s 89-81 victory over the league-leading Minnesota Lynx, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Her 10th rebound came with 5:40 remaining in the fourth quarter, giving her the double-double and moving her past the previous record of 28 set by Alyssa Thomas in 2023. (Los Angeles Times)
The accomplishment adds another milestone to what has already been a historic 2026 campaign for Reese.
A Record-Breaking Season
Reese has been one of the WNBA’s most dominant rebounders throughout the season. She previously established the league’s single-game rebounding record after pulling down 26 rebounds against the Los Angeles Sparks on August 24.
That same performance also pushed Reese past A’ja Wilson’s previous single-season rebounding record of 451. Reese has continued to build on that mark while leading the league on the glass. (Reuters)
Now, she owns the WNBA’s single-season record for double-doubles as well.
Through 38 games, Reese is averaging approximately 16.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, producing a double-double in 29 of those contests. She has also recorded at least 10 rebounds in 14 consecutive games. (Yahoo Sports)
Dream Take Down WNBA-Leading Lynx
Reese’s record-setting performance came during an important victory for Atlanta.
Allisha Gray led the Dream with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada each scored 16 points. Canada also recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists.
Atlanta controlled much of the game, taking a 52-41 advantage into halftime before holding off Minnesota’s second-half push.
The victory moved the Dream to 26-14 and gave Atlanta another statement win heading into the WNBA’s break for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. (CBS News)
Another Chapter in Reese’s Rapid Rise
The 2026 season has transformed into one of the most significant campaigns of Reese’s young career.
After leading the WNBA in rebounding during each of her first two seasons, Reese has continued to dominate the glass while expanding her offensive impact. She has now added multiple league records to her résumé, including the single-game rebounding record, single-season rebounding record and single-season double-double record. (Los Angeles Times)
And with four regular-season games remaining, Reese still has an opportunity to push the double-double record even higher.
The Double-Double Queen has officially made WNBA history.
