Miles Made WNBA History
The rookie guard didn’t just win the award — she rewrote the WNBA rookie record book.
Miles finished the regular season with 790 points, surpassing Caitlin Clark’s previous rookie scoring record of 769 points set in 2024.
The record fell on September 20 against the Connecticut Sun. Miles entered the game tied with Clark at 769 points before passing her mark with a second-quarter free throw.
She finished that game with 21 points and six assists as Minnesota defeated Connecticut 101-89.
Miles also recorded 22 games with at least 20 points, surpassing Seimone Augustus’ previous rookie mark of 20.
A Rookie Season That Changed the Record Book
Miles’ historic campaign included several milestones.
She became the fastest rookie in WNBA history to reach 350 points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists, accomplishing the feat in 21 games. She also set the rookie single-game record with eight 3-pointers against Golden State earlier in the season.
And now, she adds the Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year trophy to a season that already established her among the league’s most productive first-year players.
