CHARLOTTE, NC (December 27, 2022) — The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) is mourning the loss of Livingstone College’s Eric Henderson, an honor student and a member of the Blue Bears Men’s Basketball Team. Henderson passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on December 26, 2022.
CIAA Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams issued this statement following the tragic death of sophomore student, Eric Henderson:
“One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned while leading this great conference is that the tragic loss of one of our student-athletes affects the entire CIAA family—and all of us at the CIAA feel the impact of Eric Henderson’s death. Our prayers are with Eric’s family and friends, with his Livingstone College teammates and coaches, and with the Salisbury community during this most difficult time.”
