Tennessee State’s Rymen Mosley Named OVC Rookie of the Week After Two-Interception Performance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee State freshman defensive back Rymen Mosley has been named the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Rookie of the Week after delivering a game-changing performance against No. 24 Morgan State.

Mosley recorded two interceptions in the first quarter of Tennessee State’s 25-16 victory over the Bears, helping the Tigers build an early 9-0 lead and secure their eighth consecutive Homecoming victory.

The freshman’s defensive impact was felt immediately. His first interception came at Tennessee State’s 15-yard line, and he returned it 18 yards. Mosley followed with another interception at the TSU 6-yard line, giving the Tigers two crucial takeaways inside their own territory.

The performance increased Mosley’s season total to three interceptions. He also recorded a tackle as Tennessee State’s defense limited Morgan State to just 2-of-11 on third-down conversions.

Mosley’s ability to create turnovers helped Tennessee State maintain momentum against a nationally ranked opponent. The Tigers ultimately secured a nine-point victory, improving their Homecoming winning streak to eight consecutive contests.

The OVC Rookie of the Week recognition adds another highlight to Mosley’s freshman campaign as Tennessee State continues its 2026 football season.
