The SIAC announced their 2022-23 men’s basketball preseason ranking Thursday morning. The Golden Rams who went 7-10 overall and 4-7 last season and finished fifth in the Eadtern Division, were picked to finish fourth in the preseason pole, ranking behind Morehouse, Benedict, and Savannah State.

Golden Rams Malik Parker and Jordan Simpson were both named to the SIAC Preseason All-First Team. Parker, a senior guard out of Chicago, IL paced ASU in scoring and was the third-ranked bucket getter in the SIAC last season, putting in 17.6 ppg.
Senior forward Jordan Simpson from Pasadena California was the second-leading scorer on last year’s squad, averaging 15.3 points per contest. Simpson also led the team and conference in rebounding at 11.6 and was second in the conference in field goal percentage at 62.3%.

Albany State tips off the 2022-23 season Friday, November 11 at 8 pm when they head to Livingston, Alabama to take on Mississippi College.
