OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss is making sure the student section is fully behind the Rebels when LSU comes to town Saturday.
Ole Miss Athletics has issued a warning to students ahead of the matchup, stating that fans wearing opposing-team apparel or colors will not be permitted in the student section.
The policy is being enforced both at the entrance and inside the section.
“No person wearing an opposing team’s gear or colors will be allowed entrance into the student section. Additionally, anyone found to be wearing opposing team apparel or colors in the student section will be removed.”
The warning was reported by Tyler Komis and shared by On3.
That means students arriving in LSU gear — or wearing colors Ole Miss determines represent the opposing team — could be denied entry to the student section. Students who change into opposing-team gear after entering could also be removed.
The policy adds another layer of intensity to an already highly anticipated SEC matchup.
For Ole Miss students, Saturday’s message is clear: if you’re sitting in the student section, come dressed for the Rebels.
