Albany State Softball swept by Edward Waters

The Albany State Golden Rams softball team was swept by the Edward Waters Tigers in a 3-game series held in Albany on March 19-20.  With the loss on Monday afternoon, the Golden Rams are now (16-10) overall and (9-4) in the SIAC.  The Tigers improved to (22-4) overall and (8-2) in the SIAC. 
 
The game was scoreless until Tiana McFarland hit a single to right field to score Morgan Brown.  McFarland’s hit gave the Golden Rams a (1-0) lead entering the bottom of the 7thinning.
 
The Golden Rams needed 3 outs to win the game.  Kylah Gardner hit a double to left field to score Jamiah Holmes to tie the score (1-1).  Brooke Rice singled to left field to score Kylah Gardner for the winning run for the Tigers.
 
The Golden Rams finished with 1 run, 7 hits and 1 error in the game.
 
Trista Murphy was the losing pitcher for the Golden Rams.  Murphy pitched a gem, but she is now (4-4) on the season.
