Alcorn’s Qwynnterio Cole inks deal with UFL team

Former Alcorn State safety Qwynnterio Cole has re-signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks. 

Cole began his collegiate career at Alcorn State, where in his three seasons he recorded 170 total tackles ( 96 solo, 74 assisted) , 5 tackles for loss, 8 interceptions, 14 passes defensed, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. 

The Memphis, Tennessee native racked numerous accolades including being named a 2-time HBCU All-American (2018, 2019), All-SWAC First Team (2018), Preseason All-SWAC First Team (2019) and FCS Preseason All-America (2020). 

Cole transferred to Louisville for his senior season , appearing 13 games and recording 87 total tackles, (65 solo, 22 assisted), which was the second most on the team. He also added 5 tackles for loss, 1 interception , 7 passes defensed and a forced fumble in garnering All-ACC honorable mention honors. 

Cole was an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Raiders in 2022 before signing with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL in 2023, recording 48 tackles and three interceptions. 

Last season he signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks in 2024 and was a key component to a St. Louis defense that became one of the top units in the league. Cole started all 10 games , recording 56 tackles and a pair of interceptions.
