An initial look at the “5 Rings” Nike Kobe V Protro

As its nickname implies, the “Five Rings” Kobe 5 pays homage to the five NBA titles Kobe Bryant won as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Originally released in 2010, Nike Basketball will bring the colorway back for a second retail run. Like its progenitor, it sports a purple upper with yellow and purple layering spelling out “5 Rings”. Yellow shows up for the lateral and medial side Swooshes, the Kobe logo on the tongue and the Kobe signature on the heel.

The upper sits atop a yellow and purple midsole and a milky outsole.

The “5 Rings” Kobe V Protro is slated to release later this fall at nike.com and select retail venues with a $180 USD sticker price.
