The Atlanta Dream have reached the 2026 WNBA Finals, but where they’ll play their home games remains uncertain because of scheduling conflicts at State Farm Arena.
The arena, home of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, is unavailable for all three potential Atlanta home dates:
- October 22 — Game 3: Sombr is scheduled to perform at State Farm Arena.
- October 24 — Game 4: The Atlanta Hawks are scheduled to host their home opener against the Houston Rockets.
- October 29 — Game 6, if necessary: The Hawks have another home game scheduled against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Those conflicts have complicated the Dream’s efforts to host their Finals games at the larger venue. State Farm Arena can accommodate more than 17,000 fans, while Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia, has a basketball capacity of approximately 3,500.
According to USA TODAY reporting, the Dream’s efforts to secure a larger venue have so far been unsuccessful. Unless the situation changes, their Finals home games could be held at Gateway Center Arena.
The situation comes just days after Atlanta announced a multiyear agreement to move all its home games to State Farm Arena beginning with the 2027 season.
Finals home dates: October 22, October 24 and October 29, if necessary. The venue for Atlanta’s games remains uncertain.
