COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women’s basketball team is ranked sixth in the first official NCAA Division II regional rankings, released by the NCAA.
The Lady Tigers, with a 20-5 record against Division II and in-region opponents, are the only SIAC team represented in the top 10.
Union College, 22-1, from the Gulf South Conference is ranked No. 1.
Eight teams from the South Region will compete in the NCAA Division II National Championship tournament. The conference tournament winners from the SIAC, Gulf South Conference and Sunshine State Conference will receive automatic bids to the NCAA Division II tournament, while the other top five ranked teams will receive at-large bids.
