The Nike Air Alarm is finally coming back.
Nike’s unconventional ’90s tennis silhouette is expected to return in Fall 2027, marking the model’s first-ever retro release more than 30 years after its original debut.
Originally released in 1995, the Air Alarm was designed by Wilson Smith for tennis star Andre Agassi. Its bulky profile, layered upper, oversized tongue and multiple straps made it one of Nike Tennis’ most distinctive designs of the era.
The model also developed a following away from the tennis court. NBA legend Gary Payton famously wore the Air Alarm during his playing career, giving the sneaker an unexpected basketball connection.
For its anticipated 2027 comeback, Nike is expected to bring back the original White/Green color blocking, with white dominating the upper and green accents providing the signature contrast. Current reports indicate that the exact retail price and official release date have not yet been announced.
The Air Alarm has remained one of the more elusive Nike Tennis models from the 1990s, never receiving a proper retro since its original run. Its return will give longtime Agassi fans and ’90s sneaker enthusiasts another opportunity to own a piece of Nike’s experimental tennis history.
