Although I don’t want to prematurely knock this shoe, it illuminates a major issue with Jordan Brand. As was touched on in our article on the “Royalty” Air Jordan 12, Jordan Brand he’s well aware of the sneakers in specific colorways that their consumer/fan base wants. However instead of taking the wide open slam dunk this Brand will either release a shoe that is similar enough to cause mild to severe annoyance or go in a completely different and a necessary direction.
Such is the case with this particular Air Jordan 3. This sneaker is actually an example of on multiple levels. As the moniker implies, this Air Jordan 3 takes the classic “Cardinal” colorway, made famous by the Air Jordan 7 and puts its own spin on it. While the visual representations below depict a fine-looking shoe, once again Jordan Brand zigs and zags when the best path would have been straight ahead. The “Cardinal” 7 ( and no those reflective ones do not count) have not had a retail run in a decade and are certainly would be anticipated but also Jordan Brand has inexplicably yet to release the “Fire Red” in their original form as they have with every other original colorway of the Air Jordan 3. They had two golden opportunities , and still do in all honesty, and they decided to unnecessarily kick both of those cans down the road to produce a colorway that no one asked for.
According to the incomparable zsneakerheadz, this Air Jordan 3 is planned for a January 2022 release. They will carry a 190 USD sticker price.
