Norfolk State women’s hoops claims third straight MEAC Tournament

Kierra Wheeler led the Spartans with 19 points, adding seven rebounds, six blocks, and four steals, while Diamond Johnson tallied 16 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Norfolk State erases 11-point deficit to win fourth MEAC Tournament

Tennessee State’s Sanders Ellis hits the transfer portal (again)

According to Pete Nakos of On3sports, Tennessee State freshman linebacker Sanders Ellis has entered the transfer portal.  This is the second time this offseason season that Ellis has entered the transfer portal. He initially entered the portal In December, shortly after Tennessee State was defeated 41-27 by Montana in the FCS Playoffs.  The Nashville, TN native paid immediate dividends once injuries thrust him into the starting lineup, recording 86 total tackles( 59 solos, 27 assisted), 15.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 2 passes defensed, and 3 fumble recoveries. The Sun Conference announces its major award winners for the 2024-25 women’s basketball season, as Florida Memorial University took two major awards, including Kamesha Moore who was named 2024-25 SUN Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Year along with her head coach Kevin Herod, who earned conference Coach of the Year honors.
