One half of the matchup of the 2018 Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship has been set. Arkansas-Pine Bluff advanced by defeating Southern 71-65 earlier this evening. UAPB enjoyed a 19-11 lead before Southern blitzed them with a 19-4 run to put the Jaguars up 30-23. Southern would halve their advantage shaved to three,30-27, right before the break when Charles Jackson was fouled on a three-point attempt and cashed in all three free throws. The second seeded Prarie View A&M Panthers dispatched the seventh seed Alcorn State 87-71 last night in the opening round of the SWAC Men’s Basketball Tournament. Prarie View’s J.D. Jimmy Butler having surgery on torn meniscus

In the third quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves ‘ game against the Houston Rockets, Jimmy Butler went down with an apparent non-contact knee injury.
