The Los Angeles Lakers and guard Ben McLemore have come to terms on a contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Clippers to sign DeMarcus Cousins to 10-day deal

from Joseph Rucker of B/R: Veteran center DeMarcus Cousins is signing a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.  Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN noted Cousins needs to test negative for COVID-19 six times before he’ll be cleared to exit the NBA‘s health and safety protocols. The four-time All-Star should be cleared by Monday barring any setbacks. ESPN’s Bobby Marks noted how the timing would benefit the Clippers: Cousins averaged 9.6 points and 7.6 rebounds in 25 appearances for the Houston Rockets. He struggled offensively, though, shooting 37.6 percent…

Stephen Curry cleared to return to action against Hawks

By Jon Becker of Bay Area News Group Stephen Curry’s tailbone is apparently feeling well enough for him to play in Atlanta Sunday night.  That’s welcome news for a Warriors team that repeatedly found itself on the downside during a 53-point loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Curry was not listed on the team’s injury report on Saturday, a clear indication the Warriors’ star is available to help prevent a winless three-game road trip. The Warriors suffered their third-worst loss in team history when they got blitzed 130-77 by…

Some NBA teams have issues with the buyout system

From: Rob Goldberg of B/R: The buyout market might have played a significant role in determining the 2021 NBA championship, which has caused complaints from small-market teams. “The system is flawed,” a small-market general manager told Howard Beck of Sports Illustrated. “You shouldn’t be adding to your team this deep in a season without giving things up.” The Brooklyn Nets added veterans LaMarcus Aldridge and Blake Griffin after they agreed to buyouts with the San Antonio Spurs and Detroit Pistons, respectively. Andre Drummond signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday after parting…

Andre Drummond to sign with Lakers

Before the injuries to Lebron James and Anthony Davis the Los Angeles most glaring weakness was their lack of size. Losing both Javale McGee and Dwight Howard in free agency hurt them and Marc Gasol has looked like even a shell of what he was in Toronto. That issue may be , in part, addressed in the form of Andre Drummond. According to Adrian Wojnarowski the big man will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers once he clears waivers Sunday afternoon.
