Tuesday morning Tennessee State University lady basketballer Saniah Parker was announced as Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the week. In helping the Lady Tigers go 2-0 last week, Parker scored 14 against UT Martin and followed that up with a season, and career-high 18 points against Southeast Missouri. Parker was scorching from the floor in those games, hitting 12-16 from the floor including knocking down 75% of her three point attempts and 83% of her free throws. Morant and Van Vleet named NBA Players of the Week

Monday afternoon the National Basketball Association announced their Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week. Memphis Grizzlier point guard Ja Morant was named Western Conference POW, Morant averaged 25.0 points, 6.8 assists and 6.3 rebounds per contest in helping Grizzlies to a 5-0 week.
