176 Norfolk State student athletes make spring AD Honor Roll

Courtesy of Noah Schlekeway, Assistant SID, Norfolk State Athletics The Norfolk State athletic department has concluded another extraordinary spring semester, landing 176 student-athletes on the AD Honor Roll. To be eligible for the NSU AD Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher for the semester. 11 student-athletes boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester: Niya Fields (women’s basketball), Calyce Jones (volleyball), Jahee Blake (football), Fonnae Webb (football), Lauren Sheehan (softball), Irina Iurea (women’s tennis), Sabina Iurea (women’s tennis), Angelina Maniawska (women’s tennis), LaShauna Burrus(bowling), Autumn Burrell (women’s track & field), and Anjali Davis (women’s track & field). Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: Teen Robbed at Gunpoint for Sneakers

Police in New Britain Township Police are on the hunt for a suspect who stole a pair of sneakers but then exacerbated the situation by also threatening to shoot a group of people.  According to authorities, at approximately 7:35 pm on Monday, May 5 when three individuals sitting on a curb were approached by a pair of individuals unknown to them. Alabama State wins 2024-25 SWAC Commissioner’s Cup

Courtesy of the Southwestern Athletic Conference The Alabama State University Athletics Department claimed two-of-three Southwestern Athletic Conference 2024-25 all-sports awards winning the James Frank Commissioner’s Cup and the Sadie Magee/Barbara Jacket Award for the third consecutive year. The Jackson State University Athletics Department claimed the C.D. Henry Award to round out the list of institutional winners. Alabama State claimed the James Frank Commissioner’s Cup after amassing 163.0 total points. Jackson State (147.5 points) and Southern (139.5) claimed second and third place respectively. This Kobe IX Low was made for the basketballers of the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL). They sport a racer blue knit upper with metallic silver Swooshes adorning the sides. The “Rare Air” is a new colorway of the Air Jordan 11 that is paart of a robust year for the 11, with seven planned releases in 2025. PE Corner: Jalen Brunson Debuts Nike Kobe 6 Protro ‘Statue of Liberty’ PE in East Finals

During Game 2 of the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson debuted a striking new Player Exclusive (PE) sneaker: the Nike Kobe 6 Protro, dubbed the“Statue of Liberty.” They sport a turquoise snake-scaled upper adorned on the sides with bronze Swooshes.
