he CIAA Student-Athlete Spotlight presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors continues this week by featuring El-Joshua Allen of Winston-Salem State University. Allen is a senior football student-athlete from Fremont, CA. He majors in political science and maintains a 3.17 grade point average.

“I’m half Filipino and half African-American.”
Your goals or plans after finishing school:
“I plan on going to law school and becoming a juvenile defense lawyer.”
Your greatest inspiration:
“My father was my greatest inspiration. Before he passed, I promised I would make him proud of me and the person I have become.”
What do you love the most about being a student-athlete your school?
“What I enjoy most about being a student-athlete at WSSU is the game day atmosphere, there’s nothing like it. And as a student I fell in love with the vibe on campus the first month I was out here.”
