The Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League has thrown its support behind the Federal Government’s COVIDSafe app.
NBL Owner and Executive Chairman Larry Kestelman said: “The Government is a doing a great job to help lead the Australian community back from this terrible virus.
“The COVIDSafe app is a very important initiative to help track cases of the virus in Australia and prevent community transmission.
“We would encourage all basketball fans to download it and help in the fight against COVID-19 as everything we can do will also help accelerate the return of the NBL and the whole sport.”
Over two million people have already downloaded the COVIDSafe app and the NBL said it would encourage every adult attending a game next season to have the app downloaded on their phone.
“Even when fans are allowed back to watch live sport it’s important that we look at every measure we can to protect their safety and we will work with our clubs and venues to do this,” Kestelman said.
The COVIDSafe App can be downloaded on iPhones and Android devices.
