Curtis Allen wins the Harlon Hill award

Virginia Union running back Curtis Allen was named the 2025 Harlon Hill Award winner. The Hill award is regarded as the D-II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy and is the most prestigious award at that level.

Allen ran for 2,409 yards and 30 touchdowns and never ran for less than 108 yards in any game on the season, with a high of 369 yards against Bluefield State on 11/1. The 2,409 yards were only bested by the 2,446 racked up by Montie Quinn of Division III Curry College. His 30 touchdowns led the nation, regardless of division.

Allen is the first HBCU player to take home the Harlon Hill, a testament to the talent that the HBCU ranks can and have produced.
