Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s wife is expected to recover after she was shot at the couple’s Virginia home, according to ESPN.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Bieniemys’ residence, where emergency responders transported her to a local hospital for treatment. While the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
As of this writing, law enforcement has not publicly identified a suspect, announced any arrests, or released a possible motive. Officials have also not disclosed additional details about what led to the incident as the investigation remains ongoing.
Bieniemy returned to the Chiefs in 2026 after spending time with the Washington Commanders and UCLA. He previously served as Kansas City’s offensive coordinator from 2018-2022, helping the franchise win two Super Bowls before departing for Washington.
