Hornets’ Biyombo has surgery for chronic knee injury

Tuesday, Charlotte Hornets center Bismack Biyombo underwent arthroscopic on his left knee to address an chronic injury.

In his 54 appearances last season the big man averaged 4.4 points and 4.6 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per contest. This is his second run with the franchise, he was acquired by the Hornets ( the Bobcats at the time) via a 2011 draft night trade after being originally selected 7th overall by the Sacramento Kings. He was reacquired as part of a three-team trade with the Orlando Magic on July 8, 2018. Biyombo, along with two future second round picks for Timofey Mozgov ( to the Orlando Magic) and Julyan Stone (to the Chicago Bulls).

According to the team, Biyombo is expected to make a full recovery.
