The Hornets broke Steve Clifford off on April 13 after compiling a 196-214 record in five seasons , including a disappointing 36-46 each of the past two years.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Charlotte Hornets will interview David Fizdale and Ettore Messina “in the coming days.”
Fizdale was fired by the Memphis Grizzlies in November and has been mentioned as a possible candidate for nearly every team with a coaching opening this season.
Messina, who is currently an assistant with the San Antonio Spurs, has spent the majority of his coaching career in Europe, where he made the playoffs 15 f his 17 seasons across the pond and won four titles.
