In what was the definition of a back-and-forth affair, defending MEAC volleyball champion Howard defeated Delaware State 3-2 (25-15, 18-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-13) Thursday evening in Memorial Hall.

Jennifer Bolden led three Howard players with double-digit kills, racking up 17 for the match while also assisting on three blocks to total 18.5 points. Rya McKinnon notched a double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs (which tied Essence Bell for the team high), and Cimone Woodard added 11 kills and hit .438 on the night.
Kayla Diaz quarterbacked the Bison offense with 48 assists, five service aces and three kills, while also recording nine digs.
