Jackson State senior defensive back Robert McDaniel was named to the 2025 Senior Bowl Watch List released on Wednesday.
McDaniel, a transfer from Alcorn State, totaled 30 tackles for the Braves as a defensive back in 2023 with 21 solo stops. He also recorded a pair of tackles for loss. McDaniel accounted for six turnovers last season causing three fumbles and was among the league leaders with three interceptions. He also recorded five pass breakups.
After nearly eight months of tape study and valuable input from coaches to identify the “best of the best” draft prospects at every level of college football, the 12th annual is comprised of a record 859 prospects. The total number is up significantly from past years due to the new addition of specialists and underclassmen, as well as the inclusion of many fifth and sixth-year seniors opting to use their extra Covid year of eligibility. All the prospects who made the cut were evaluated by the Senior Bowl staff and tape-based grades were also logged on hundreds of other senior prospects who ultimately did not make the list.
Jackson State opens the season on August 29 on the road against ULM. The game will kick at 6 pm on ESPN+.
