According to a Shams Charania report, San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard will miss the entire 2018 Playoffs due to the same right quadriceps injury that limited him to only 9 games this season.
Additionally, per the aformentioned report, Leonard will stay in New York, where he has been rehabilitating the injury with his personal medical team. The point of contention is although the Spurs’ medical team has cleared Leonard to return, his personal medical team has not.
Leonard has been rehabbing in New York because that is where his medical staff is located, and he has not been cleared by his doctors, league sources said. Leonard’s rehab program in New York has been in collaboration and with the approval of the Spurs’ medical staff, league sources said.
There is obvious a disconnect between Kawhi and at least some of the Spurs braintrust. When asked about a potential Kawhi return , all coach Gregg Popovich could offer was, “You’ll have to ask Kawhi and his group that question.”
Any chance Kawhi rejoins the team during the series, Pop? Pop: "You'll have to ask Kawhi and his group that question."

Now that the speculation of whether Kawhi will play anymore this season, the Kawhi Leonard trade speculation will likely reach a fever pitch.
