Kelsey Mitchell’s historic scoring streak reached another milestone Thursday night.

The Indiana Fever guard scored 37 points and added five assists, becoming the first player in WNBA history to score at least 20 points in 21 consecutive games. Mitchell broke a record previously shared with Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson.

The four-time WNBA All-Star entered Thursday averaging 24.3 points per game, second in the league behind Wilson, while shooting an impressive 44.3% from three-point range. During the first 20½ games of her scoring streak, Mitchell averaged 26.8 points per game.

Her consistency has been remarkable. Mitchell has scored at least 30 points four times during the streak, including her previous season-high of 37 points against the Minnesota Lynx on Aug. 2.

The Fever also found plenty of success during the early portion of the historic run, going 14-6 over the first 20 games.

Despite Mitchell’s record-setting performance, Indiana fell 91-85 to the Dallas Wings. Aliyah Boston finished with 14 points and nine rebounds, Makayla Timpson posted 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Caitlin Clark contributed 10 points and eight assists.

Dallas was led by Arike Ogunbowale, who scored 32 points. Jessica Shepard added 26 points and eight rebounds, while Awak Kuier recorded 11 points, eight rebounds and seven blocked shots. Paige Bueckers finished with 13 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

For Mitchell, however, the night was another historic chapter in what has become one of the most dominant scoring stretches in WNBA history.

Twenty-one straight games. Twenty-plus points every time. A new WNBA record.
