Kendrick Perkins says if Lakers beat Rockets in playoffs, the GOAT debate is settled

For the past decade, the propaganda arm of Klutch Sports, aka, the LeMedia has been on a jihad to shoehorn LeBron James into the GOAT debate.

This coordinated, pernicious misinformation campaign that sees facts and operating with scruples as minor inconveniences , as they regularly employ lies and assaulting the legacies of past players and eras on which they have constructed their castle of lies.

Longtime LeMedia acolyte Kendrick Perkins once again towing the company line, said on a recent episode of First Take that should LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers defeat Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets, this would unassailably cement James’ status as the greatest player ever.

“If a 41-year-old LeBron James in a head-to-head matchup with Kevin Durant, comes out and pulls off this victory, … I don’t want to hear a damn thing anymore about the GOAT conversation.”

As laughable, daft and devoid of any component of a sensible basketball take, this is par for the course for the propaganda arm of Klutch Sports. Here is Perkins is not only tossing something against the wall, hoping it sticks but also simultaneously lowering the bar for James.

Perkins does not assert that winning an additional championship or MVP would allow James to ascend to the top of the All-Time NBA mountain but rather his team winning a first playoff series against the Houston Rockets in which the Lakers are the higher seed.

Granted the Lakers are without both Austin Reeves and Luka Dončić, however these were the same players that the Klutch media machine was attempting to lay the blame for the Lakers’ struggles earlier in the season.

It was Austin Reeves whom James’ agent and mouthpiece Rich Paul had the temerity to put it on wax and say that the Lakers should bench him and consider trading their budding star.

However should the Lakers lose, their absence will be used as an escape clause for LeBron should the Rockets defeat. If the Lakers win, their narrative would be a nonstop celebration of LeBron, his greatness and how he once against overcame insurmountable odds that no other player could ever overcome.

ApexJones, a consistent debunker of LeMedia propaganda takes apart their latest attempt at manufactured greatness.

These refutations, as vigorous as they are, are in no way the “hate” the legions of LeSychophants use as all encompassing shield when anyone dares utters anything short of absolute reverence for their beloved king.

Because of their unprincipled tactics, the true basketball fan has had to take up the mantle of defenders and preservers of the game of basketball.
