MEAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honorees

From the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference:

Redshirt sophomore forward Steve Settle III of Howard has been selected Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Cola-Cola, it was announced on Tuesday. Meanwhile, sophomore guard Justin Wright of North Carolina Centralis the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Settle (F, 6-10, 175, R-So., Glenarden, Md.) scored a team-high 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting against Harvard last Tuesday. He also had four rebounds, two blocked shots and one assist in that contest.
 
Wright (G, 6-1, 200, So., Greenville, N.C.)averaged 6.5 rebounds in games against Texas-El Paso and Sam Houston State in the Sun Bowl Invitational, including nine against UTEP and four against SHSU. He added 12 points, four assists and a steal in the UTEP game, along with seven points against SHSU.
 
Other Top Performers
Randy Miller Jr. (North Carolina Central) led the Eagles by averaging 12.5 points in the Sun Bowl Invitational against UTEP and Sam Houston State. He had 15 points, five rebounds and two assists against UTEP, followed by 10 points against SHSU.

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is in its 51st year of intercollegiate competition with the 2021-22 academic school year. Located in Norfolk, Va., the MEAC is made up of eight outstanding historically black institutions across the Atlantic coastline: Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University.
