Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke dead at 29

Tragic news of out of the NBA. Multiple reputable outlets are now reporting that Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke has died at too young age 29, with confirmation coming from his agency and the team.

Other major sources are also independently reporting the same development and noting that details surrounding the cause of death have not yet been released.

Clarke played a key role during his rookie campaign, the pandemic shortened 2019-20 season, averaging 12.1 points and 5.8 boards in 58 games. That same season he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team and finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting.

He signed a 4-year, $52 million extension with the team in 2022. In March of the next year he suffered a rupture of his Achilles tendon that limited him to just 6 games that season. Calf and knee ailments allowed him tonser action in just twlnganes this season.
