Miami Heat Officially Sign Andrew Wiggins to Contract Extension

The Miami Heat have officially locked in one of their core veterans, announcing Monday that they have signed forward Andrew Wiggins to a contract extension.

While the team did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement, the extension comes after Wiggins exercised his player option for the 2026-27 season and agreed to add two additional years to his deal, keeping him in Miami for the foreseeable future. Reports indicate the contract is worth $64 million over three years, including the upcoming season, with a player option in the final year.

The move further solidifies a Heat roster that has undergone a dramatic transformation this offseason. Miami officially completed its blockbuster trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo earlier Monday, pairing the two-time NBA MVP with Bam Adebayo and now ensuring Wiggins remains part of the franchise’s championship aspirations.

Wiggins proved to be a valuable two-way contributor after arriving in Miami, averaging 15.4 points and 4.8 rebounds last season while providing the perimeter defense and versatility that have defined his career. His ability to defend multiple positions and contribute offensively gives the Heat another experienced wing alongside their new superstar core.

With Wiggins under contract, Miami continues to build around a nucleus featuring Antetokounmpo, Adebayo, and a deep supporting cast as the franchise looks to re-establish itself among the Eastern Conference’s elite.

Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
