From nbl.com.au:
The Perth Wildcats have announced the re-signing of championship-winning centre, Majok Majok on a two-year contract (second year Club option).
The 28-year-old West Aussie is thrilled to be staying in Perth.
“I’ve built some great relationships within the team. Any time you get the chance to play for a team like the Perth Wildcats, that has been so successful, it’s something you don’t turn down,” said Majok.
“It’s been almost a year and half since I last played. With all the hard work I’ve been putting in, I’m just looking forward to being back out on the court. It’s been a long wait.”
Majok arrived at the Wildcats in 2019 and played a major role in the club’s 2019/20 championship-winning season.
Prior to the recent 2021 season, he ruptured his Achilles tendon, ruling him out for the entire second year of his contract.
Trevor Gleeson is excited to see him get back out on the court.
“I’m really happy to have Majok back, he’s been working diligently to get back healthy,” he said.
“Every tough game that we played when we won the championship (in 2020), Majok stood up. His Game Three in the Grand Final was superb, probably his best game for the Wildcats and we want to get him back to that level.
“He’s a great passer, he crashes the glass and he’s tough. He can defend the big guys on the block, and it’s great to have that toughness in a team.”
Majok Majok has five NBL seasons to his name, including championships at both Perth and Melbourne.
In his most recent season, he averaged 2.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game as a back-up centre.
Over his 134-game career, those numbers increase to 3.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Majok’s joins Jesse Wagstaff, Mitch Norton, Bryce Cotton, Todd Blanchfield and Luke Travers on the Perth Wildcats 2021/22 roster.
