Simone Fontecchio is leaving ALBA Berlin and he will continue his career in Spain with Baskonia, signing a three-year deal.
The German club will receive a 250.000 euros buy-out, as Fontecchio follows the footsteps of his former teammate Rokas Giedraitis, who also left Berlin for Vitoria last summer.
Fontecchio had an excellent season, averaging 10.6 ppg while shooting 38.8% in threes in the EuroLeague and he also emerged as a key member of the Italian national team. The 26-years old player is expected to be officially released from ALBA in the next few hours.
German journalist Robert Heusel reported first the upcoming deal.
