Olympiacos will be the first Greek club for Tyler Dorsey who is already a member of the Greek national team

The negotiations between Tyler Dorsey and Olympiacos culminated in a one-year contract, bringing the Greek-American guard to the Reds. The two sides engaging in talks was reported by Eurohoops, however, the side of the player wanted to be a free agent next summer and not include any kind of option in a possible two-year commitment.
Dorsey, 25, is now heading to his second stop in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague following 62 appearances as a member of Maccabi Tel Aviv the past couple of seasons. He has been capped at the senior national team of Greece but lands in the country at the club level for the first time. His Greek citizenship provides extra flexibility to the roster.
The former Oregon standout, carrying the experience of 104 NBA games split between the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies, had set his sights on returning to the NBA for the next season. He was also linked to Olympiacosbut talks began only recently.
His 2020-21 campaign at Maccabi under head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos generated 11.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per EuroLeague contest. At the domestic level, he logged 11.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in Israel’s Winner League.
