South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley gave fans an early look at one of the most exclusive basketball sneakers of the year, unveiling a custom Nike A’Two Player Exclusive PE inspired by the Gamecocks.
The one-of-one colorway celebrates South Carolina’s iconic garnet-and-black color palette and highlights the close relationship between Staley and former Gamecocks legend A’ja Wilson, whose second Nike signature shoe continues to generate major buzz ahead of its wider release. The exclusive pair features a midmatched aesthetic, with one shoe sporting black and red color blocking, while its mate, white and red. Perched atop each tongue is a Gamecocks logo with additional A’ja branding seen on the rear heels.
The mismatched look continues tothe midsole, with one being black and the other white, with differing rubber outsole.
Staley showcased the sneakers on social media, instantly drawing praise from sneakerheads and women’s basketball fans alike. The reveal comes as excitement continues to build around the Nike A’Two, Wilson’s sophomore signature model following the successful launch of the A’One.
The latest PE further highlights Nike’s growing investment in women’s basketball, where signature athletes are receiving increased visibility through both retail releases and highly coveted player-exclusive colorways. Dawn Staley has long been one of the sport’s most influential figures, and exclusive pairs like these only reinforce the cultural connection between elite athletes, legendary coaches, and sneaker culture.
Unfortunately for collectors, this South Carolina-inspired Nike A’Two PE is expected to remain exclusive to Staley and is not expected to receive a retail release.
Still, the reveal is another reminder that some of the best basketball sneakers never make it to store shelves.
