From the SIAC:
A record high, 1,474 student-athletes, was named to the 2021-22 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner’s All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average throughout the 2021-22 academic year.
Student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher were considered for all-academic team honors. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions usually involved in that sport.
Fifty-one students from 13 institutions recorded a 4.0 grade point average.
Benedict College and Kentucky State University led all institutions in this year’s All-Academic Honors by capturing four all-academic team awards. The Tigers captured team awards in women’s cross country, women’s tennis, women’s track and field, and softball. The Thorobreds received team awards in women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, men’s volleyball, and baseball.
Miles College trailed with three team awards in football, men’s basketball, and baseball. Morehouse College and Spring Hill College each captured two team awards.
