From MEAC Player of the Year to the Houston Rockets, Bryce Harris is taking the next step in his basketball journey.
Another HBCU basketball standout is getting an opportunity at the next level!
Former Howard University star Bryce Harris has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Houston Rockets, according to reports published Friday, Oct. 16. The signing gives the 6-foot-4 guard an opportunity to continue pursuing his NBA dream after a decorated five-year career with the Bison.
Bryce Harris Built a Legacy at Howard
Harris remained at Howard throughout his collegiate career, becoming one of the program’s most accomplished players. He helped the Bison win three Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championships, earn three NCAA Tournament appearances and secure the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history.
His final season in 2025-26 was particularly memorable. Harris earned MEAC Player of the Year honors after averaging approximately 17 points and seven rebounds per game, establishing himself as one of the conference’s top players on both ends of the floor.
His performance also helped Howard capture the MEAC regular-season and tournament championships.

From The Mecca to Houston
Harris previously signed a Summer League agreement with the Oklahoma City Thunder in June before earning this latest opportunity with Houston.
The Rockets signing represents another milestone for the Howard standout, whose collegiate career demonstrated the talent and perseverance found throughout HBCU basketball.
While the contract does not guarantee a spot on Houston’s regular-season roster, it gives Harris another opportunity to compete within an NBA organization and continue developing his professional game.
