A 52-year-old Portland, Oregon man is accused of stealing over $5,000 of sneakers from the Northeast Portland Nike Outlet. Kevin Millage was arrested as a suspects in thefts from the store after detectives reviewed footage from the store’s video surveillance system.
According to court documents, Millage admitted to detectives that he is a drug addict and that he pilfered the shoes in order to sell them to obtain drugs. He estimated to police that he had stolen over 800 pairs of shoes.
The court documents also state that Mr. Millagae was involved in the following theft:
March 27- Shoes valued at $349.97 stolen
April 3- Shoes valued at $1,200 stolen
April 4- Shoes valued at $1,500 stolen
May 6- Shoes valued at 2,425 stolen
Kevin Millage remains in custody following his May 18 court appearance, where he was charged with five counts of theft and once count each of criminal conspiracy to commit theft and unlawful possession of heroin. He is due back in court later this month.
