Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: Thieves steal $18,000 worth of sneakers

Police in Ocala, Florida are on the lookout for three thieves who are accused stealing approximately $18,000 worth of footwear from a store in the city’s Paddock Mall.

Investigators state the theft occured on January 27 when the three thieves used ladders to ascend to the roof and then cut a hole in the ceiling above the store to gain access.

“While inside, the thieves stole multiple exclusive brand-name sneakers at a total value of $18,000. Some of the shoes stolen were Air Jordan Retro 5 and 6, Nike Dunk, and Adidas Yeezy 700.

Officers indicated that prior to the theft, a small U-HAUL truck observed circling the mall parking lot before being parked in an unlit area with a male laying across the driver seat.

The three alleged crooks were described as all wearing dark colored clothing ( hoodies or jackets) masks and gloves. Police also state one thief was wearing a leather type sneaker with brown laces, another multi-colored sneakers and the third, black sneakers; law enforcement adds the individual with the brown laced footwear had “ a towel or rag hanging from his back pocket.”
