Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: WA man in custody for shooting into mall and stealing sneakers

Police in Snohomish County, Washington arrested a man who shot his way into a mall to steal sneakers.

Last January Micah Snyder shot into the Aldenwood Mall to break into Sneak City to steal high-end sneakers. Surveillance footage depicts the suspect firing multiple rounds at the glass door of the shopping center, taking a handful of shoes, and running out the front door. The entire crime from initial shots to escaping back out the front doors taking just a few brief minutes.

Anastasia Lemley, co-owner of Sneak City had this to say:

“The whole time he’s in the store you can see the handgun in his hand as he’s running around the store. So, I’m glad nobody was hurt because who knows what would have happened if somebody had been here during that time,”

The Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force arrested Snyder last month at a Pierce County apartment complex. Law enforcement says an AR-10 was recovered from Snyder’s vehicle. Snyder confessed to burgling the Alderwood Mall, the South Hill Mall, the South Center Mall twice, and the Tacoma Mall

Lemley told local Fox affiliate, FOX 13 that three pairs of sneakers were taken in the robbery- one worth $9,000, a second worth $6,000, and the final pair valued at $1,000.
