The Lions dropped a close contest in a 76-71 loss to Lindsey Wilson in game two of the St. Thomas Holiday Invitational at the Fernandez Family Center.
Florida Memorial led 19-11 at the end of the first quarter, but the Blue Raiders outscored FMU 22-13 in the second quarter and took a narrow lead into halftime. Lindsey Wilson outscored FMU 46-30 in the second and third quarters (combined) to eventually pull away with the slim victory.
Reigning Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Tianna Ayulo produced a game-high 28 points and shot a blistering 11-for-14 from the field, including 4-of-6 from downtown while teammate Chantel Barnettfilled the stat sheet with 18 points, six boards, four assists and three steals in 32 minutes of play for the Lions, who fall to 9-5 overall.
The Lions return to action on Thursday, January 5 as they face Southeastern. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
